For many men, men’s jeans are the most valuable part of their wardrobe. You can wear them around the house, in work or on casual outings. But despite their usefulness, finding the perfect pair of men’s jeans is never easy.
So what should you keep an eye out for when looking for that perfect pair of men’s jeans? Below, I’ve listed some basic tips to getting that perfect pair of men’s jeans.
Style:
Fashions change on a weekly basis and since you’re going to want to get the most from your purchase I suggest you go for classic style when it comes to jeans. The three classics are:
Original blue jeans: Originally designed for work wear, these are now the most versatile piece of clothing you can buy.
Slightly faded blue jeans: These are more casual wear than work wear, nevertheless they can also look cool with a sports coat and shirt.
Dirty denim: These can be faded rusty colour brown or a dirty blue denim. These are still subtle enough to stand the test of time, although the more stylised ones will have limited appeal. A lot of women dislike dirty denim, but us guys love ‘em!
Cut:
Skinny jeans come and go, so pick a pair with flare
Classic doesn’t need to mean boring. A good choice is a straight leg or boot cut (which are slightly flared). Steer clear of tight fits toward the bottom of the leg, tapered, or the wide bell-bottomed look.
Get the right fit for you.
Simply, if your men’s jeans don’t fit your build, you’re going to look a fool. So make sure the legs, crotch and waist are not too tight. I know someone once told you women love tight jeans…and they do, but you’ve got to have the physique for them. And bear in mind they’re uncomfortable to sit and walk!
You should also check that your jeans look good from behind. When people are checking you out you want to give them something to look at!
Buy pre-shrunk jeans that are a little longer than needed, this will give them the chance to shrink a little more on their first wash and will give you the opportunity to make alterations if needed.
When trying them on so you’ll see how they fall, and don’t forget to put your wallet and keys etc in the pockets to see if they’ll fit comfortably.
